You can’t beat the views here! The house was much larger than we needed but booked it for the views and pool which was spectacular. Would be a great place for a large group and the casita on the property could also extend the space. The side deck is great to drink your early morning coffee and listen to the jungle sounds. The beds and bedding are comfortable, there’s plenty of towels and beach towels, and a full set of cookware. The house is beautifully decorated and very clean. The location is great because while it’s remote enough to be private and no light pollution, it’s just 10 minutes from town. The road is a bit rough in a short section where 4WD is needed. I’d definitely stay here again.

Very private, great plunge pool. Felt safe and secure.

The house was beautiful and met our needs. Check in was easy and communications with the management company were handled quickly. The pool was great and felt like bath water. We were leery at first to book this home as we know the area it is in and thought that it may be noisy; however, noise was not a factor. It was quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

3 recommendations I would make are:
1. BBQ utensils
2. More beach/pool towels as there were only 2 and 1
child towel.
3. A desk or spot so that a person could work remotely
comfortably.

Schönes großes Ferienhaus mit schöner Einrichtung und großer gut ausgestatteter Küche. Zu dem Geschirrspüler hätte ich mir noch ein paar bereit gestellte Tabs gewünscht. Die Türen zu den Zimmern und zum Bad lassen sich schlecht oder gar nicht schliessen. Die Kommunikation ist sehr gut. Vielen Dank für die Hilfe mit dem Arzt.

We had an amazing time at Villa Mariposa in Ojochal! Our kids loved the pool and we loved this well appointed home that had everything that we needed. The listing is on point besides the parrots in the almond tree. We were there for 10 days and never saw one but maybe it was just the time of year? I’m certainty not knocking anything off my review for not seeing a specific animal! The neighbors were super friendly and the main bedroom was super spacious and that king bed was really soft and comfy. The property management company Osa was great as well and very on top of any request and checked in with us several times during our long stay. Lots of great family memories and we hope to come back!

Great stay! Enjoyed a lot.

Our stay at Gema Escondida was perfect! Our property manager, Josue, met us on the main road in order to drive us up the hill to the house on our first night. Do not underestimate the drive, you’ll need a 4X4, but it is worth it once you see the view! (Also the daily drive in and out is a free excursion!)
The house came fully stocked with all of the cooking and kitchen utensils you’d need during your stay. The beds were extremely comfortable. The photos provided make the property look amazing but the view standing at the pool patio is indescribable in person.
The local howler monkeys, toucans, frogs, hummingbirds, deer, coati, butterflies as well as the amazing vegitation are right outside the door. There are little black “magical” stingless bees that paid a visit most days, it’s a beautiful thing to be surrounded by relatively untouched nature.
Beaches are a short drive down to the coastal highway and in either direction. A horseback ride to local waterfalls was set up by the property manager for us and was unbelievable. We highly recommend doing it – it was one of th highlights of our trip.
The town of Dominical is just down the road and a great place to grab food, shop a bit and go to the beach. Everyone takes US Dollsrs if you have not stocked up on Colones and we found that most people in the area speak English and are patient with you if your Spanish is still developing.

We could not have had a better trip and would highly recommend this area of Costa Rica and particularly Gema Escondida!

La casa es tal como en la descripción, por la ubicación puede ser que se encuentre lloviendo en las tardes (lo normal en esta región del país) pero en las mañanas, todo cambia y si vas a la playa hay siempre hay sol.
