Sykes, the United States firm that was the pioneer in establishing call
centers in Costa Rica, plans to increase its payroll to 3,000 by early
next year, said Chuck Sykes, the company’s chief executive. Currently,
Sykes has 2,500 employees, 2,370 of whom work at its facility in the
Global Park Free Zone in Heredia. The other 130 –expected to increase
to 630 in the coming months—work at a new site in Moravia, where the
company invested $4 million.
