Residency information: from the United States Embassy
Costa Rican Immigration now requires all foreign nationals applying for residency in the country to show proof of registration with their national embassy. After discussions with the U.S. Embassy, immigration officials have agreed to accept a printout of an e-mail confirmation from the U.S. Department of State’s automated registration system as proof that U.S. citizens have registered with the embassy.

United Nations holds Disarmament Workshop in Costa Rica
United Nations officials have made Costa Rica the backdrop of a disarmament workshop beginning today in San José. With representatives from nearly every Central American country, as well as Cuba, Mexico and the Dominican Republic, the conference is expected to piggyback off of a 2004 U.N. Security Council resolution against weapons of mass destruction.

Sept 11 - 8 years later...my thoughts
8 years ago I was on an early morning flight from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Kansas City. Although we landed on time we had an extremely fast and hard landing in Kansas City without any explanation or comment and the weather was perfect.
